Primary Curriculum

At Wilcox School Aba, our Primary Curriculum is thoughtfully crafted to provide a solid foundation for academic excellence, character development, and essential skills. We understand the critical role primary education plays in shaping a child’s future, and as such, our curriculum is designed to inspire curiosity, foster creativity, and promote a love for learning.

Holistic Approach: Our Primary Curriculum takes a holistic approach to education, addressing the intellectual, emotional, and social needs of our young learners. We believe that a well-rounded education goes beyond academic achievements and encompasses the development of key life skills and values.

Core Subjects: The Primary Curriculum covers core subjects, including English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. These subjects are taught through engaging and interactive lessons that encourage active participation and critical thinking. We use a variety of instructional methods to cater to different learning styles, ensuring that each child grasps the concepts effectively.

Language Development: A strong emphasis is placed on language development, as effective communication is fundamental to success in all aspects of life. We foster language proficiency through reading, writing, and speaking activities, promoting a love for literature and effective communication skills.

STREAM Integration: To prepare our students for an increasingly technology-driven world, we integrate STREAM (Science, Technology, Robotics, Arts, Engineering, and Mathematics) concepts into our Primary Curriculum. Through hands-on experiments and projects, students develop problem-solving skills and a curious approach to scientific inquiry.

Arts and Creativity: At Wilcox School Aba, we recognize the importance of nurturing creativity and artistic expression. Our Primary Curriculum includes dedicated time for visual arts, music, and performing arts, allowing students to explore their creative talents and develop a well-rounded appreciation for the arts.

Physical Education and Sports: We believe in the importance of physical well-being and the development of teamwork and sportsmanship. Our Primary Curriculum includes physical education and sports activities, encouraging students to lead an active and healthy lifestyle.

Character Education: Integrating character education into our curriculum is a priority. We actively promote values such as respect, kindness, integrity, and empathy, fostering a positive and inclusive school culture.

Project-Based Learning: Project-based learning is an integral part of our Primary Curriculum. Through projects, students explore real-world challenges, apply their knowledge, and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

These experiences empower them to become independent learners and innovative thinkers. Field Trips and Experiential Learning: We believe that learning extends beyond the classroom. Regular field trips and experiential learning opportunities enrich the curriculum, allowing students to connect their classroom learning to the world around them.

Assessment and Progress Tracking: We employ a range of formative and summative assessment methods to track each student’s progress accurately. This approach enables us to provide timely feedback, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and tailor our teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.

At Wilcox School Aba, our Primary Curriculum is designed to inspire a lifelong love for learning, instill essential values, and equip students with the knowledge and skills they need to become confident, compassionate, and capable leaders of tomorrow.
